Encouragement of Turn-Taking by Real-Time Feedback Impacts Creative Idea Generation in Dyads

چکیده
Building creativity in a remote group is challenging, and various methods to improve it have been investigated. However, the effect of real-time feedback system on computer-mediated outcome remains undetermined. In this study, we studied performance 20 two-person groups (dyads) while they engaged alternative uses task via video-mediated communication received cues based turn-taking. The study included three conditions: turn-taking encouragement (TTF), random time (RF), no (NF). To probe underlying mechanism, assessed outcomes, participants’ mood, temporal characteristics type (i.e., slow gradual or instantaneous). results revealed that TTF can enhance dimensions fluency, originality, index convergence. Comparing self-reported moods indicated heightened negative valence with high emotional arousal. While did not show any changes idea generation quality differences between conditions, showed cue impact was instantaneous. also significant instantaneous immediate generation. Our findings suggest condition enhanced cognitive persistence rather than flexibility during session. be useful only human-to-human communications, but designing social robots agents.

3 Creative Idea Generation
Organisations acknowledge the fact that competitive advantage depends heavily on their ability to capitalise on their employees’ ideas as well as to support and maintain creativity within their working environments. Thus, the importance of creativity has long been recognised in management. This chapter reviews the current literature on creativity and discusses various views, which provide a the...
متن کاملHow minimal executive feedback influences creative idea generation
The fixation effect is known as one of the most dominant of the cognitive biases against creativity and limits individuals' creative capacities in contexts of idea generation. Numerous techniques and tools have been established to help overcome these cognitive biases in various disciplines ranging from neuroscience to design sciences. Several works in the developmental cognitive sciences have d...
متن کاملReal-Time Output Feedback Neurolinearization
An adaptive input-output linearization method for general nonlinear systems is developed without using states of the system. Another key feature of this structure is the fact that, it does not need model of the system. In this scheme, neurolinearizer has few weights, so it is practical in adaptive situations. Online training of neuroline...

متن کاملFrontotemporal and dopaminergic control of idea generation and creative drive.
This article presents a three-factor anatomical model of human idea generation and creative drive, focusing on interactions between the temporal lobes, frontal lobes, and limbic system. Evidence is drawn from functional imaging, drug studies, and lesion analysis. Temporal lobe changes, as in hypergraphia, often increase idea generation, sometimes at the expense of quality. Frontal lobe deficits...
